Business Admin Baduwa Program Participants Graduate
7 participants in the Baduwa Business Administration pre-employment program have graduated after completing a 6-week intensive training course.
The program gave the participants an opportunity to complete a number of business administration modules with TAFE NSW.
The course included communication skills, time management, health & safety, business software and touch typing.
Program participants were given an Aboriginal Employment Mentor who offered advice, support and assistance throughout the program. Amy Porter, who is Yilabara Solutions’ Field officer and Mentor said she was incredibly proud of the effort each participant put into their work.
“It was an absolute honour to meet and guide these participants through their journey of completing the statement of attainment in Business Administration. Everyone did a wonderful job completing the course and staying dedicated to reaching their goals.“
Program participant, Leslie Tighe, said the extra support gave her confidence to complete the program.
“Thanks, Amy for your ongoing support throughout the course. I cannot thank you enough for helping me out over the past couple of weeks.”.
Throughout the program, networks were made, and a tight-knit group was formed.
Amy said, “Everyone developed such a strong lasting friendship with each other in the duration of the course. It was absolutely beautiful to witness. Especially when they pulled together and helped each other when needed. The teachers were also pleased with the efforts and dedication to their learning. I couldn’t be happier with the turnout of this group.”
Representatives from Business Australia and Keighran Legal attended the graduation to meet the program participants.
Keighran Legal Operations Manager, Cindy Fuller said, “The graduates were enthusiastic about their future employment opportunities after having completed the course. If you have an administration role that needs filling, I encourage you to contact Yilabara who may have the right person for you.”
