Barranggirra is funded by the NSW Government and provides end-to-end support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners through culturally appropriate mentoring to ensure successful retention and completion of training and improved post-training employment outcomes

Barranggirra achieves the following objectives

Employers

Aboriginal Cultural mentoring to support job retention and development.
Individual support for your Aboriginal staff to troubleshoot any challenges both within their role or outside of their employment.
Immediate access to information on apprenticeship and traineeship initiatives
Immediate access to information on Aboriginal employment and training

Individuals

Increased access, retention and completion of vocational education and training.
Aspiration and expectations about career pathways.
Improved post-training outcomes.
Increased placement in meaningful and sustainable employment.
Greater confidence when making decisions that maximise training and employment experiences and outcomes.

Barranggirra achieves the following objectives

Yilabara Barranggirra Regions

Yilabara delivers the Barranggirra project across the entire Western NSW region and has expanded to Greater Western Sydney and Sydney North East and South. We have staff located in Dubbo, Broken Hill, Orange, Penrith and Sydney that you can access.

Our Yilabara Team offers both face-to-face and virtual support to employers. Given the size of Western NSW, in this region we provide virtual support initially followed by face-to-face support.

Am I eligible for Barrangirra?

Aboriginal learners undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship, Smart and Skilled prevocational and part qualifications who have a Training Contract ID (TCID) or Commitment ID (CID) are eligible to participate in Barranggirra.
